Dracula chestertonii is a small epiphyte from west Colombia where it grows in cloud forests in the Antioquia, Choco and Valle de Cauca departments at elevations of 1500 to 2200 metres. It occurs in a wet tropical climate with a preference for cold temperatures and produces fragrant blooms in summer and fall.
