Epidendrum acrorhodum is a large orchid native to southern Ecuador. It occurs in virgin and disturbed cloud forests at 2700 to 3100 metres elevation in a wet tropical climate. The species is an epiphyte with terrestrial growth habit that prefers cold temperatures and partial sun and blooms during summer.
