Papilionanthe hookeriana

Papilionanthe hookeriana is a large terrestrial subshrub. It occurs from Indo-China to west Malesia in open swampy areas near the seacoast in semi-deciduous and deciduous dry lowland forests and savana-like woodlands in deep peaty soils that submerge annually in freshwater floods. This species grows in wet tropical climates with intermediate temperatures and blooms in spring and summer.
