Phalaenopsis cochlearis is a small epiphytic orchid. It occurs in west Malesia in forests on limestone in Malaysia and Sarawak at elevations of 500 to 700 metres. It grows in a wet tropical climate with intermediate temperatures and blooms in spring and summer.
