Its seed parent is the species Phalaenopsis pulcherrima native to Assam to Hainan and west Malesia while its pollen parent is the species Phalaenopsis violacea native to Peninsula Malaysia to Sumatera. This page is for the named form 78 and the grex was registered with the RHS by Clarelen in 1963.
