It was registered with the RHS by C.Beard in 1969 from the seed parent Phalaenopsis fasciata, a species native to east Himalaya to Assam, Philippines, and the pollen parent Phalaenopsis violacea, a species native to Peninsula Malaysia to Sumatera.
