Phaius humblotii is a large terrestrial orchid first described in 1880. It occurs in Madagascar and the Comoros Islands at altitudes of 1000 to 2000 metres in wet semi-deciduous forests and mossy forests. The species prefers cool temperatures and partial shade, blooming in spring and fall.
