Acampe orchids

Acampe species are epiphytic subshrubs that grow either epiphytically or terrestrially. They originate from Tropical and Subtropical Asia, ranging from India to China in south Yunnan and Indo-China. These orchids are found at elevations between 700 and 2200 metres in seasonally dry tropical or wet tropical climates. The plants are large or giant in size and prefer hot or cool conditions. Most species produce fragrance. Flowering occurs in spring, fall and winter.

Two species are catalogued. The example species are Acampe ochracea and Acampe praemorsa.
