Aciopea orchids

Aciopea is an artificial hybrid genus combining Stanhopea and Acineta. Both parent genera consist of pseudobulbous epiphytes that grow in wet tropical climates. Stanhopea species occur from Central America through south and west Colombia to Ecuador. Acineta species occur from Costa Rica to Panama and from Colombia to north-west Venezuela.

Four hybrids are catalogued. The examples are Aciopea Amiga Roo, Aciopea Ingrid Suarez and Aciopea Walnut Valley Sunshine.
