Appendicula orchids

Appendicula species grow as epiphytes in wet tropical climates and sometimes as lithophytes. The species are recorded from west and central Malesia, Sikkim to China south Guangdong and Malesia, peninsula Thailand to west and central Malesia, and the Philippines. Elevations are between 200 and 800 metres. They have a hot temperature preference. Plants are large or medium sized. Blooming is in fall, spring and winter.

Four species are catalogued for this genus. Examples are Appendicula buxifolia, Appendicula cornuta and Appendicula undulata.
