Arpophyllum orchids

Arpophyllum species are small rhizomatous epiphytes that follow an epiphytic growth habit. The species come from Central Mexico to Central America, Mexico to north-west Venezuela and Jamaica. They are found in seasonally dry tropical and wet tropical climates. The elevation range of the species is 1900 to 2200 metres. Typical temperature preference is intermediate and cool. Main bloom seasons are spring, winter and summer.

Six species are catalogued. Example species named on the sheet are Arpophyllum giganteum and Arpophyllum spicatum.
