Capanemia orchids

Capanemia species are miniature epiphytes with an epiphytic growth habit. They originate from seasonally dry tropical and subtropical areas in south-east and south Brazil to Argentina (Misiones) as well as south-east and south Brazil to Bolivia and north Argentina. The elevation range is from 500 to 500 metres. These orchids prefer intermediate temperatures and flower in spring and fall.

Four species are catalogued. Example species are Capanemia superflua and Capanemia micromera.
