Caulocattleya orchids

The genus Caulocattleya is an artificial hybrid genus whose registered hybrids combine Cattleya and Caularthron. Species of Cattleya are pseudobulbous epiphytes native to north Venezuela, western central and south-east Brazil as well as south-east and south Brazil. These occur in a seasonally dry tropical climate. Species of Caularthron are pseudobulbous epiphytes from Trinidad-Tobago to north Brazil and Colombia where the climate is wet tropical.

Nine hybrids are catalogued. One example of a registered hybrid is Caulocattleya Chantilly Lace Twinkle.
