Cheirostylis orchids

Cheirostylis species are rhizomatous geophytes that follow a terrestrial growth habit and remain miniature in size. The species come from Myanmar to west and south Malesia and the south-west Pacific where they grow in wet tropical climates at elevations from 200 to 600 metres. These plants have a typical temperature preference for hot conditions and their main bloom seasons fall in fall.

Four species are catalogued. Cheirostylis montana is an example species.
