Cystorchis orchids

Cystorchis species are terrestrial rhizomatous geophytes from wet tropical climates. They occur from west Malesia to the Philippines, north Sumatera and Malesia to Vanuatu. Elevations range from 200 to 1500 metres. Plants prefer hot temperatures. Typical sizes are medium or miniature. Blooming occurs mainly in fall.

Eight species are catalogued. Example species are Cystorchis stenoglossa, Cystorchis variegata and Cystorchis javanica.
