Eria orchids

Eria species are pseudobulbous epiphytes or lithophytes from wet tropical regions. They occur from central Nepal through the Himalaya to China and north Indo-China, including Hainan and Vietnam. Plants grow epiphytically or terrestrially at elevations from 20 to 2500 metres. Sizes range from miniature to large. Most species are fragrant. They prefer intermediate to hot temperatures and flower in spring, winter or summer.

Forty-one species and one hybrid are catalogued. Example species are Eria coronaria and Eria rhomboidalis.
