Galeopetalum orchids

Galeopetalum is an artificial hybrid genus whose registered hybrids combine Zygopetalum and Galeottia. Zygopetalum species are pseudobulbous epiphytes from north Peru to Brazil, east and south Brazil to north-east Argentina, and south-east and south Brazil. Galeottia species are pseudobulbous epiphytes from Ecuador to Bolivia, Brazil to Peru and east Bolivia, and south-west Mexico to Colombia. Both occur in wet tropical climate.

Ten hybrids are catalogued. Examples include Galeopetalum Ecuagenera and Galeopetalum Memoria Loren Batchman.
