Houlletia orchids

Houlletia are pseudobulbous epiphytes from wet tropical regions. The species occur from Panama to south Tropical America, from Central America to Venezuela and Ecuador, and in west South America. They grow at elevations from 800 to 2200 metres. Plants are medium sized and prefer intermediate to hot temperatures. Most species are fragrant. Bloom seasons are fall, spring and summer.

Three species are catalogued. The example species are Houlletia tigrina, Houlletia odoratissima and Houlletia wallisii.
