Lepanthopsis orchids

Lepanthopsis species are epiphytic orchids from wet tropical climates. They occur from Colombia to north Venezuela, Central America to Ecuador and other parts of west South America. Plants grow at elevations from 700 to 3000 metres. They are miniature to small and tolerate cool to hot temperatures. Blooming occurs mainly in winter, spring and fall.

Eight species are catalogued. The examples include Lepanthopsis astrophora, Lepanthopsis ubangii, Lepanthopsis acetabulum, Lepanthopsis acuminata and Lepanthopsis hirtzii.
