Macropodanthus orchids

Macropodanthus species are epiphytic subshrubs from wet tropical climates. They occur from Indo-China to Peninsula Malaysia and the Philippines at elevations of 300 to 1350 metres. The plants are small and suited to hot temperatures. Most species are fragrant and bloom in fall.

Four species are catalogued. The example species are Macropodanthus cootesii and Macropodanthus alatus.
