Mormodes orchids

Mormodes are pseudobulbous epiphytes from wet tropical regions. Species occur from Mexico to Honduras, in north Brazil and from Colombia to west Bolivia at elevations from 500 to 1000 metres. Plants are medium sized and suited to intermediate and hot temperatures. Most species are fragrant. Bloom seasons are fall, spring and winter.

Six species are catalogued. These include Mormodes lineata, Mormodes rolfeana, Mormodes rosea and Mormodes tuxtlensis. Five hybrids are catalogued. These include Mormodes Jumbo Bacia and Mormodes Jumbo Lark.
