Oberonia orchids

Oberonia plants are epiphytic and range from miniature to small in size. Species occur from the Indian Subcontinent to China and Malesia, China to Temperate east Asia, the Himalaya to south China and Indo-China, Tropical and south Africa and the west Indian Ocean. They favour wet tropical and subtropical climates at elevations of 10 to 2000 metres. Temperature preferences are hot to intermediate. Main bloom seasons are winter, fall and late fall.

Twelve species and one hybrid are catalogued. Example species include Oberonia mucronata, Oberonia rufilabris, Oberonia japonica, Oberonia brachystachys and Oberonia cavaleriei.
