About Octomeria
Octomeria are epiphytic plants from wet tropical climates. They occur from west South America to Brazil, the Lesser Antilles to Central and south Tropical America, east Ecuador, Brazil to Argentina in Misiones, and south-east and south Brazil. Elevations range from 100 to 2500 metres. Plants are miniature to large and tolerate hot to cool temperatures. Blooms appear in spring and fall.
Five species are catalogued. The example species are Octomeria crassifolia, Octomeria gracilis, Octomeria grandiflora and Octomeria estrellensis.
