Paphinia orchids

Paphinia species are pseudobulbous epiphytes from wet tropical regions. They occur from Colombia to Ecuador, in north Brazil, Trinidad and other parts of south Tropical America. Elevations range from 200 to 2100 metres. Plants are small to large and prefer intermediate to cool temperatures. Most species are fragrant. Bloom seasons are fall, spring and summer.

Eleven species are catalogued, including Paphinia neudeckeri, Paphinia cristata, Paphinia rugosa, Paphinia litensis and Paphinia posadarum. Six hybrids are catalogued, including Paphinia Majestic, Paphinia Majestic - Buds and Paphinia Majestic 4in.
