Pecteilis orchids

Pecteilis species are terrestrial tuberous geophytes. They occur from Nepal to south China and Malesia, New Guinea, south Russian Far East to south Korea, central and south Japan, and parts of China and Cambodia to south Vietnam. They grow in wet tropical and temperate climates at elevations from 350 to 2500 metres. Plants are medium or giant in size and tolerate cold or hot temperatures. Most species are fragrant and bloom in summer, fall or late spring.

Six species are catalogued. The example species are Pecteilis cambodiana, Pecteilis radiata and Pecteilis susannae.
