Phloeophila orchids

Phloeophila species are epiphytic plants from wet tropical climates. They occur in Cuba, Ecuador, Bolivia, south-east Brazil and Panama. Elevations range from 200 to 1800 metres. Plants are miniature to small and suited to intermediate or hot temperatures. Flowering takes place in spring, winter and summer.

Four species are catalogued. The examples are Phloeophila nummularia and Phloeophila pelecaniceps.
