About Phymatidium
Phymatidium species are miniature epiphytes. Their growth habit is epiphytic. The typical lifeform is that of an epiphyte. The species are recorded from east and south Brazil to Argentina (Misiones) and from south-east and south Brazil. They grow in a seasonally dry tropical climate. Elevations range from 150 to 1500 metres. These orchids have an intermediate temperature preference. The main bloom seasons are summer and fall.
Three species are catalogued. The example species are Phymatidium delicatulum and Phymatidium falcifolium.
