Promenaea orchids

Promenaea species are pseudobulbous epiphytes with a typical epiphytic growth habit. They originate from east and south Brazil where the climate is wet tropical. Elevations range from 500 to 1000 metres. Plants remain miniature in size and prefer intermediate or cold temperatures. The main bloom seasons are spring, late spring and summer.

Ten species are catalogued along with four hybrids. An example species is Promenaea stapelioides. The example registered hybrids are Promenaea Glow Worm and Promenaea Limelight.
