Schoenorchis orchids

Schoenorchis species are epiphytic subshrubs and epiphytes from wet tropical regions. They occur most often in Vietnam followed by Assam to Indo-China, China south Yunnan to Central Laos, Indo-China, west Malesia and Peninsula Thailand to west Malesia. Plants grow at elevations from 50 to 2500 metres. They are miniature to medium in size and prefer intermediate to hot temperatures. Most species are fragrant. Blooming occurs mainly in summer, spring and fall.

The genus has 25 species and 2 hybrids catalogued. Example species include Schoenorchis fragrans, Schoenorchis scolopendria, Schoenorchis seidenfadenii, Schoenorchis gemmata and Schoenorchis tixieri.
