Smitinandia orchids

Smitinandia species are epiphytic subshrubs from wet tropical climates. They occur from the Himalaya to south-west Yunnan in China and from Indo-China to Peninsula Malaysia. The plants are miniature to small and grow as epiphytes. They favour intermediate to hot temperatures. Blooming takes place mainly in summer and winter.

Two species are catalogued. The examples are Smitinandia micrantha and Smitinandia helferi.
