Sobennikoffia orchids

Sobennikoffia species are large plants. They have a terrestrial growth habit and are also recorded as lithophytic or epiphytic subshrubs. The species originate from west Madagascar and south-central and south-west Madagascar. They grow in seasonally dry tropical climates at 1569 to 1569 metres elevation. They have an intermediate temperature preference. Most species are fragrant and bloom in spring.

Four species and one hybrid are catalogued. The example species are Sobennikoffia robusta and Sobennikoffia humbertiana. The example registered hybrid is Sobennikoffia Robusta Angraceum.
