Taeniophyllum orchids

Taeniophyllum species are epiphytic orchids from wet tropical climates. They occur from Jawa, Peninsula Thailand to Peninsula Malaysia, west Jawa to Christmas I., and the Solomon Islands to the Pacific. These miniature to small plants grow at elevations from 150 to 1600 metres. They prefer hot to intermediate temperatures and have an epiphytic growth habit. Blooms appear mainly in spring, summer and fall.

Seven species are catalogued. The example species are Taeniophyllum biocellatum, Taeniophyllum fasciola and Taeniophyllum hasseltii.
