Tainia orchids

Tainia are pseudobulbous geophytes with a terrestrial growth habit. The species occur from south China to Indo-China, Taiwan, China (south-west Sichuan, Guangxi, south Guangdong) to Vietnam. They grow in subtropical and wet tropical climates at elevations from 500 to 1200 metres. Plants are intermediate in temperature preference and range from small to medium in size. Blooming takes place in spring, early summer and summer.

Two species are catalogued. The examples are Tainia cordifolia and Tainia macrantha.
