Telipogon orchids

Telipogon species are epiphytic orchids from wet tropical regions. They occur most often in south Ecuador, followed by Colombia to Peru, north-west Venezuela to Ecuador, Peru in Junín, Ecuador to central Peru and Peru in Huánuco. These plants grow at elevations between 850 and 3300 metres. They are miniature to medium in size and suited to cold or intermediate temperatures. Blooming occurs mainly in spring, summer and winter.

Six species are catalogued. The examples listed are Telipogon astroglossus, Telipogon ionopogon, Telipogon venustus and Telipogon williamsii.
