Thecopus orchids

Thecopus species are small pseudobulbous geophytes or epiphytes with a terrestrial growth habit. They occur in wet tropical climates from south Indo-China to west Malesia at elevations of 600 to 700 metres. The plants prefer hot temperatures and their main bloom season is fall.

Thecopus maingayi is an example species. Three species are catalogued.
