Trichosalpinx orchids

Trichosalpinx species are epiphytic orchids from wet tropical regions. They occur from Costa Rica to south Tropical America, Trinidad, Central Colombia to south-west Ecuador, south Mexico to Tropical America and Mexico to Trinidad and east Bolivia. These miniature to small plants grow at elevations from 750 to 3500 metres. They favour cool to intermediate temperatures and flower mainly in spring, summer and fall.

Fourteen species are catalogued. The examples are Trichosalpinx ciliaris, Trichosalpinx memor, Trichosalpinx orbicularis and Trichosalpinx semilunata.
