Vandaenopsis orchids

Vandaenopsis is an artificial hybrid genus whose registered hybrids combine Phalaenopsis and Vanda. Phalaenopsis species are epiphytes from the Philippines (Luzon), the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, north-west Sumatera and Borneo (Sarawak) in a wet tropical climate. Vanda species are epiphytic subshrubs from China to temperate east Asia, Indo-China, Arunachal Pradesh to China (south Yunnan) and Indo-China in a wet tropical climate.

Nine hybrids are catalogued. Examples include Vandaenopsis Prapin, Vandaenopsis Irene dobkin and Vandaenopsis Yih-Cheng Amanda.
